While many thought blogging was a passing fad, it appears that it is a practice that is here to stay – and marketers are definitely profiting from their blogging efforts. Blogs are especially attractive to niche marketers, for a variety of reasons.
First, installing and operating a blog is very simple. There is no need to learn HTML, and you can have a blog set up and operating in a matter of minutes. For popular blog software, such as Word Press, there are numerous templates available all over the Internet to help you make your blog attractive, and do better in your niche marketing efforts.
You can blog even if you don’t have your own website, by using a hosted blog such as that found at Blogger. However, you should ideally set your blog up on its own domain, with a professional domain name and your own webhosting if you’re going to be using that blog for niche marketing.
Blogs are also used for search engine optimization purposes. When you add a blog post to your blog, simply include a link to your main website that your blog post pertains to. This adds inbound links for your website, and helps to boost your rankings in the search engines.
The important thing about niche blogging is that you provide content that is of interest to your niche – not to the industry that your niche is in. You must stay tightly focused on your niche’s concerns, problems, and desires and ignore the rest of the market as a whole. You can’t please the entire market, and that isn’t what you are trying to accomplish with your niche marketing blogs anyway.
It is also important that you blog daily, or several times per week at the very least. Don’t worry about how many people are reading your niche blogs. The more you update it, the more popular it will become in blog directories like technorati.com and search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN Live. Over time, you will build a good readership, and you will make sales.
Pinging is important too – ‘pinging’ a site means notifying a blog directory that you’ve just posted a new article or podcast to your blog. It is important to ping your niche marketing blog after each & every post to keep the directories updated. This can be done, free of charge, at services like Ping-O-Matic and Pingoat, or even automatically by adding the various Ping URLs to your WordPress blog back end.
Start writing your own niche marketing blogs today and watch your profits soar over time!
