List Building Mistakes

4 Critical Mistakes on List Building

© Mike Mazzella

As an Internet Marketer, building an opt-in list is vital to your overall success. This has been the case for as long as we have used the Internet as a marketing tool. Having an opt-in list allows you to immediately contact customers when new products are available, and also allows you to continue to market products which your list have not yet bought.

There are many ways to build an opt-in list, but there are also many mistakes that can be made along the way. Here are five critical mistakes that can be made, and how to avoid them.

  1. Failure to build a relationship with your list. Building a list is one thing, using it to your advantage is something else. You’ve got to keep in touch with your list. Weekly mailings are advised. Twice weekly mailings are better. Daily mailings are okay, but you don’t want to go overboard. Relationship building goes a little further in that you must answer emails from your list, and the email you send to them needs to be from a personal viewpoint – not sole advertisement.
  2. Failure to see that quality matters over quantity. Having a big list is great, unless it’s totally unresponsive. When you build your list, remember that the number of list members you have isn’t nearly as important as their interest in your topic. A small list of very responsive people will always do better than a large list of mostly unresponsive people.
  3. Failure to take advantage of list building opportunities. These days, it doesn’t take years to build a healthy opt-in list. It can be done in a matter of a few weeks. Yes, you should follow all of the old techniques, but take advantage of the new techniques as well. Get involved in joint venture giveaways. Start doing some social networking. Use social bookmarks. Build your list in every way possible.
  4. Failure to use a top-of-the-line autoresponder. This is another huge mistake that people make. Autoresponders of poor quality don’t deliver as well as they should. Many are automatically blocked by spam filters – regardless of what words are used in your message. Many don’t send the emails out in a timely manner. Many malfunction and send multiple emails (identical) out to each person on the list. Avoid these problems by starting with a quality autoresponder from the very beginning. Your opt-in list will thank you for it.

I hope you enjoyed the article and hopefully I was able to supply you with some information that will help you succeed with your listbuilding efforts.

Marketing and E-Commerce

Marketing and Selling on the Internet

© Doug Champigny. All Rights Reserved.

Marketing on the Internet involves online advertising to reach out to potential customers. It requires creativity like designing, development and technical aspects like marketing and advertising. Affiliate marketing, article marketing, niche marketing, email marketing, search engine marketing and interactive advertising are all different facets of Internet marketing. It also includes sales, public relations, information management and customer service. Ever since the advent of Internet, it is widely used for all kind of purposes. Among the advantages of the Internet is that it helps in doing business, shopping, etc, from the comfort of the house. According to one researcher, a quarter of the Internet users shop online. It has also helped to grow electronic commerce, and Internet marketing is a big part of electronic commerce.

Direct marketing techniques like radio and television commercials, mails, and newsletters are the inspirations for Internet marketing, which involves direct response marketing strategies and is rapidly growing. Business-to-business, also known as B2B, and business-to-consumer, also known as B2C, are the two business models to which Internet marketing can be linked. B2C companies were the first to start when Internet marketing originated. They are companies that sell directly to the customers, whereas B2B companies are meant to do business with each other.

Websites built for Internet marketing are slightly different than other sites. There are peer-to-peer modeled websites which are used to exchange products and services between each other. Another is name-your-price, where the customers have to specify their price range that they can spend and select products that fall in that price range. Priceline.com is an example of such a website. Amazon.com is a website which is based on find-the-best-price model, where customers can find the lowest prices. Last are online auctions sites, where items are bid on. eBay.com is a great example.

The companies who use Internet marketing are at an advantage. They don’t need to put in huge amounts of energy and time in Internet Marketing like other traditional methods. With the help of only few resources, national and international markets can be reached. Because of very low investment, even small businesses and individuals are turning to online marketing. Websites and blogs have been developed and refined for this very purpose. Internet marketing is advantageous in the sense that the data is easily available on the Internet. Newsletters can be directly sent to customers and if it doesn’t contain the information they are looking for, they can search for information about the product online, make a decision and purchase it online itself.

One of the factors that hinder the growth of online marketing is delayed loading of the page. The web pages that take a lot of time to download test the patience of the consumer. To add to that, if the businesses designs complex web pages with lots of graphics and animations, it will slow down the speed even more. Another minus point of online marketing is that the customers cannot feel, taste, smell or try products in order to make a good decision. To overcome this, some of the online stores have created liberal return policies with the help of which the customer satisfaction is guaranteed.

Another big threat to online shopping is identity theft. Paying online using credit cards and e-checks is susceptible to hackers and information can be stolen and used. Many hackers and websites have been caught who were involved in buying and selling of personal information. Most of the websites have taken measures and incorporated good security on their websites to prevent this, though. One of the best methods is encryption. When the data is being transferred between two computers there is a possibility of a hacker intercepting it. So the data is changed by applying some encryption algorithm and is sent through the network and upon receipt the decryption algorithm is applied to bring back the data to its original form.

Online selling is influencing all kinds of businesses like banking, advertising, music, etc. Instead of going to a store to buy cassettes and CDs, music can be bought online and simply downloaded for instant gratification. Bank transactions like depositing, withdrawing, transferring funds, and paying bills are all performed online now, too. Billions of dollars are invested every year in online advertising alone - so be sure to get involved in online marketing and boost your, or your company’s, revenue quickly!

Monthly PLR Secrets

Secrets Of Monthly PLR Content

©2007 Joel Osborne. All Rights Reserved.

Before purchasing a membership to any private label rights membership site, there are a few things that you should be aware of.

The first thing I would like to mention is that in a monthly membership, there should be a membership cap on the amount of members that are allowed to join. This is mainly to help with any possible duplicate content issues. However the one thing that members should realize is that most members will not use all of the content every month.

You may see a cap of 500 or more members and think to yourself that 500 is way to high of a cap. But, not every member will use all of the content every single month. Some will, and most members will use some of the plr content, but not many will use all of it.

Another thing of be aware of is cheap monthly plr content (mostly plr articles) membership sites. When you see a site selling 400 plr articles a month for $10, you should ask yourself, “How are they able to charge so little?”. Well, in a lot of cases they purchase their articles from an article wholesaler. This wholesaler is selling the same articles to many different plr article membership sites.

This idea of a wholesaler sounds good… but not when it comes to plr articles. The site you join may only be accepting 200 members, but what about all of those other membership sites which are selling the same articles? Your plr articles aren’t as unique as you first may have thought. I’m not saying all cheap article sites do this, but just do your homework first. Calculate in your head the normal cost of a good article ($6-$12), times the number of monthly articles, and take into consideration the membership cap and the monthly fee. You won’t get a definite answer, so purchase wisely and get a sample article if possible before hand to check for duplication.

Using PLR Articles

Using PLR Articles - What You Should Know

©2007 Teri Champigny. All Rights Reserved.

You have probably heard of PLR articles. These are ‘Private Label Rights’ articles, which means that you can put yourself as the author of the articles and change them anyway you like. Unfortunately, many people don’t take the time to change them – they just put themselves as the author and replace links with their own links and submit them.

First, this doesn’t do much in the way of establishing yourself as an expert or building credibility. People tend to remember what they read – and you are distributing the same article, with your name on it as the author, that countless other people are also distributing. Second, the search engines aren’t too fond of PLR articles, and they tend to ignore them.

With this said, you should note that PLR articles are a viable source for articles for the purpose of marketing – as long as you change them. For best results, they should be completely rewritten. The idea is there, the information is there…simply rewrite it. Also, make absolutely sure that you change the title of the article!

Many people purchase PLR packages and then pay a writer to rewrite the articles. Writers usually charge about two dollars for this, depending on the length of the article, and how much rewriting there is to be done. You could purchase a PLR package with hundreds of articles for about twenty bucks, have a writer rewrite 52 of them, and have enough articles for an entire year for about $124 bucks! This is an outstanding deal when you consider the time that you have saved.

Again, the key to using PLR articles effectively is to rewrite them and give them new titles. If you aren’t willing to do this, don’t waste your money on PLR packages. Taking the absolute lazy way to article marketing won’t get you very far!

7 Super-Affiliate Tips…

Becoming A Super-Affiliate - Seven Tips for Affiliate Marketing Stardom

©2007 Doug Champigny. All Rights Reserved.

Obviously you wouldn’t be doing affiliate marketing if you didn’t want to succeed at it. Competing with other affiliates and reaching affiliate marketing stardom takes a lot of work, and few people reach the status of super-affiliate simply because they don’t know or understand what it takes. Here are some tips to get you headed in that direction.

  1. Build an opt-in list and build a relationship with that list. You should send one email daily or at least weekly to your list. Give your list members tips or information that is valuable to them, and promote an affiliate product or service that is related to the topic of the email.
  2. Write and submit articles on a regular basis. Not only will this increase sales and signups for your opt-in list, but it will also help to build your online reputation and credibility.
  3. Be completely honest in all of your business dealings. If a customer complains to you, follow up with the merchant, even though it is not your legal responsibility to do so. You won’t get ahead by cheating people.
  4. Never recommend or promote products that you have not tried yourself and don’t fully believe in. When you make a recommendation, it is your reputation on the line. If you are picky about what you promote, your recommendations will become more powerful.
  5. You have to prove yourself. Don’t expect to start out as a super affiliate. When you can produce a high volume of sales consistently, then you are in a position to be called a super affiliate and seek higher commissions and joint venture deals.
  6. Take advantage of all that the merchant has to offer in terms of promotional materials and training – but create your own stuff if this is allowed. Set yourself and your affiliate marketing materials apart from that of other affiliates.
  7. Offer what other affiliates don’t offer. For example, you can get numerous private label rights products and offer them as free bonuses for people who purchase through your link. Just tell them to send you their receipt after they purchase in order to receive their bonuses.

While these 7 Tips For Super-Affiliate Stardom aren’t the be-all and end-all of affiliate marketing by any means, they’ll certainly get you started on the road to affiliate marketing superstardom, and help to move you ahead of all the other Super-Affiliate wannabes out there - and that’s a good thing! :)

Simple AdSense Blogs

© Doug Champigny. All Rights Reserved.

A blog is a web page arranged chronologically with short regularly updated posts. The content can be about anything. It can be about a person, idea, ads, diaries, updates or even news about other companies. They are also a way for people to communicate besides email. Blogs can concentrate on one subject or they can be about several different things. AdSense blogs are the same by definition, but they usually have Google AdSense ads posted on them that usually have something to do with the content of your blog.

There are a few basic blogging tips you should be aware of, especially if you’re a newbie. The first is to post on a regular basis so your blog is always fresh and new when it is visited. Second, do not talk about too many different topics, people will quickly lose interest. Third, you should think about blogging on a very clean and simple topic, as questionable topics are generally banned by Google.

Some bloggers have recently come to think that AdSense can help their blogs become a money bank. While blogs are very popular, merely having a blog doesn’t guarantee you success. You’ll need to have a fresh topic, regular, quality posts, and of course, traffic.

There are several great marketing tools for AdSense blogs such as getting other people to link to your blog and the content in your blog, or in a sidebar show a blogroll (list) of other valuable websites that will link directly to yours these usually have related interests to your topic. There are some people who will say that AdSense blogs are great money makers and some that will disagree. I think it all has to do with the content in the blog and what type of advertisements it contains. If people visit your blog and right away it looks unappealing they are not going to spend much time in it or move to anything else that it is connected to.

Like with any other form of blogging, professional bloggers know the secret to a successful blog is to post high-quality content at regular intervals, content that people will enjoy and benefit from reading. With blogs being so easy to set up these days, a number of quality AdSense blogs can easily be managed by one person, especially if that person is a well-organized self-starter. Start boosting your income with simple AdSense blogs today!

Making Money With PLR

PLR: The Real Way To Make Money Online?

© Rosie Cottis. All Rights Reserved.

Everyone wants to know about the real way to make money online, when the happy truth is that there are many ways. They all require different skills. Adsense can be very rewarding if you can create and, most importantly, drive traffic to good content websites, but to be reliant upon Adsense means to be reliant on Google who can ‘fire’ you by canceling your account at any time. Affiliate marketing requires you to be skilled in writing product reviews and presell pages, and the competition can be cut-throat as Adwords users try to outdo each others’ ads.

Establishing yourself as a reseller or creator of digital products has many advantages compared with these. You are firmly in control. You sell your product from your own website and collect 100% of the earnings. Or even better, you can set up your own affiliate program and have affiliates selling your products for you too. This can send your earnings soaring.

If you are wondering how to find digital products, don’t worry, it is not difficult. Of course you can create them, but assuming you do not want to, you can find ebooks or software with resale rights or private label rights. If you have resale rights you are not usually permitted to alter the products in any way, and they will contain links to the original author’s site and affiliate programs. But with private label rights you can change the product to make it unique, publish it in your own name, and include affiliate links that will continue to bring you income for a long time after the sale of the product itself.

You may get promotional material including a sales letter and graphics when you buy these digital products. These may be very well designed and it is tempting to go ahead and upload the sales letter to your website exactly as it is, except of course for adding your own payment button. However, it is much better to make some changes for both visitors and the search engines. You may be able to improve the sales page and with private label rights you can give the product a new title and graphics to make it unique.

For ebooks, it is wise to do some rewriting. In some cases the English is not good and you will have to, but even if it is fine, you will probably want to add your own ideas, change things around and create something new. This can be done in a tiny fraction of the time that would have been required to write an ebook from scratch, leaving you more time for the important things like bringing visitors to your site to buy it. Online marketing is not as difficult as it may sound, and much of it can be done for free. You can start a blog, promote it in forums, write articles, and there are many free advertising sites. There is a wealth of information on how to do all of this available on the internet.

Many marketers also use paid advertising including Google Adwords to drive traffic to their products. This can bring you extra sales but you will need good Adwords training before you start, as it is possible to lose a lot of money by choosing the wrong keywords. You may also be able to find online coupons that will give you a bonus $25 or $50 in your new Adwords account.

The most important thing you can do for your new online business is to decide on a direction to follow and then focus on it without other distractions. Many of us find that marketing products created from PLR digital products is the best way to make money online.

PLR Profit Tactic

The Winning PLR Profit Tactic…

© Edmund Loh. All Rights Reserved.

Tired of engaging in a price war with 499 other resellers who also own the Private Label Rights to the same products as you do? Think you cannot make a comfortable living from selling Private Label digital products that are readily free and everywhere? Discouraged from making a profit from Private Label Rights?

You owe it to yourself to read this article!

I have been in the Private Label Rights (or PLR in short) business for the last 2 years. And my friend, that is almost as new as Private Label Rights came about in the Internet Marketing industry. So I can certainly relate to how you feel, which is why I hope that through this article, I can help expand your thinking horizon.

Now believe it or not, profiting from Private Label Content is nowhere near as hard as you think it is. As a matter of fact, it is SIMPLE. ‘And how simple?’ you ask. Well, almost as simple as ‘be unique’. It is two simple but powerful words that can enable you to unlock your riches in Private Label Content.

Would it surprise you that some of the top Internet Marketers you and I know of today are actually just ordinary people doing things differently and are enjoying extraordinary results?

That’s correct. And I want you to subscribe to the same school of thought these folks are doing exactly right now: do what others won’t do so you get what others won’t get!

Okay, so how does that apply when it comes to profiting from Private Label Rights?

For example, if the Private Label Content is readily available in E-Book format, you can spawn a series of short reports from the same material. And if you can create, say, 10 short reports, from a thick PLR E-Book, and charge $10.00 per pop, you have 10 instant products instead of 1, thus ten-folding your income potential! While other resellers are fighting a bloody price war (some lives lost, maybe?), you catapult yourself out of the crowded battle and have the rest of the marketplace to yourself to profit from!

And what if the Private Label Content is a barrage of articles? Well, you can compile your own ‘Big Book’ and sell at $37.00 - $47.00 per pop! Plus, consider other options such as starting your own paid E-Course, audio session, membership site content, and so many more.

Remember: a lot of people are generally lazy and usually take the easy way out. Ways as easy as reselling Private Label Content as they are in spite of the abundance of editing privileges.

But as long as you put a ‘little’ extra effort in becoming unique and adding value, you place yourself on top of the rest of the crowd by default. Take my word for it, because I use this winning PLR profit tactic for a living!

AdSense Ad Formats

©Doug Champigny. All Rights Reserved.

Google AdSense – Which Format Works Best?

There are many, many questions floating around the web about Google AdSense. Top on that list is, perhaps, which ad format works the best. While it’s a very valid question, the question is probably impossible to answer. Why would I say that? Let’s take a look at this question a little closer and you’ll see why…

As with any method of advertising, there is no rubber-stamp solution. And that goes for AdSense ads, too. No two websites are exactly the same, just as no two brick-and-mortar companies are the same, therefore, no single advertisement is the solution to their needs. AdSense ad formats are different to meet the needs of individual websites.

While the largest ad may be perfect for Site X, the smallest may be just the answer for Site Y. This may not be the answer you were hoping for, but it’s simply true. So how do you know which ad format is right for your site? There are a couple things you can do.

First, you can try one ad at a time and track the results. After a given period of time you can change to another format; larger or smaller, whatever the case may be. Then run that ad format for the same period of time and compare your results to see which performed better and then go with it.

Another method you can use is two different ad formats at the same time. Run them for a reasonable period of time and then compare their performance to see which of the two ads had the best results. You’ll then know which format is best for your site.

One thing to remember when choosing your ad formats. What works well now may not always work well. If your clicks start stagnating, you’ll want to try changing ad formats to see if there isn’t another format that may perform better for you in the future.

For optimum testing, put 4 AdSense ads on each of your article/blog pages, and use the stats provided by Google or MyBlogLog.com to track which ad blocks are getting the highest clickthroughs - and which clickthroughs are generating the highest paying clicks for you. Over time, adjust each of the four until you have achieved the highest possible clickthroughs at the highest possible payouts. Don’t be afraid to move them around on your page and change the layout some to see if that increases your earnings, but track it carefully and be prepared to move them back if you see your payouts dropping.

Most importantly, get the Google AdSense ads to work earning you money today!

Viral Marketing List Building

© Liz Tomey. All Rights Reserved.

Are You Using Viral Marketing To Build Your List To Guru Status?

I hear it all the time. “The money is in the list!” Do I believe it? You bet I do! How do you think the gurus became gurus? By having a large list of people who know who they are and buy from them. It’s common sense! If you build a big list, give that list content, promote products to that list, and you will make money. The bigger your list the more you’ll make. It’s a simple concept, but it does take some work.

I have been using one tactic that has built my list very quickly and has made my list very diversified. I have people on my list that are interested in earning money with Google Adsense, List Building, Income Systems, Viral Marketing, and just about any other topic related to Internet marketing.

So, I bet your asking me how I did this?

Two words - Viral Marketing

That’s right, I took the power of viral marketing and watched it build my list on auto pilot day after day, and I continually use it to build my lists even today.

Whenever I want to add a few thousand subscribers to my list, I simply find a few products that come with resale rights that I can use as giveaway bonuses. These products are usually on the same topic. I then create a mini guide talking about these products and about the topic of the products. I then put the links inside this mine guide to the resale rights products.

The guides range from 15-30 pages, and cover the topic of the resale rights products that I chose. For example, if my resale rights products are on List Building, then my guide will also be on List Building. You can either create your own content for the guide, pay someone to write it for you, or use private label content.

After your guide is all created, put a small ad on the first page of the guide for your list’s sign up page. Package it all up and start giving it away to everyone that you can, and tell them they can give it away or sell it. By doing this, you are starting a viral marketing campaign that could go on for months or even years! Every time a new person gets your guide, the first thing they see is the ad for your list’s sign up page. If they pass it on, all of those people see your ad too, and it just keeps going on and on.

Getting people to give things away is getting harder and harder, so to make it beneficial for people to give your guide away throw in a few affiliate links to resources and allow people to brand those affiliate links. That way people can give your guides away with your list’s sign up page in them, and when someone buys through the affiliate links the person giving the guide away gets paid! It’s a win-win situation.

You could use this one tactic alone and put out a new guide that others can give away every other week, and you’ll be amazed at how fast you build your list.

Don’t be fooled though, you have to work your list. You must give good content, and treat them all like they are your customers. Even if they have never bought from you before, there’s always the chance they will buy from you in the future!

I wish you much success on your list building journey!
